URGENT ATTENTION REQUIRED ON THE FAILED PORTION OF ROAD AT RAMAT PARK, IKPOBA HILL BENEATH THE FLYOVER

OFFICE OF THE SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT (SSA) ON PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO THE GOVERNOR

EDO STATE GOVERNMENT, BENIN CITY

Date: October 14, 2026

To: His Excellency,

Senator Monday Okpebholo,

The Executive Governor of Edo State,

Government House, Benin City.

Through:The Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Subject: URGENT ATTENTION REQUIRED ON THE FAILED PORTION OF ROAD AT RAMAT PARK, IKPOBA HILL BENEATH THE FLYOVER

Your Excellency,

I write to draw Your Excellency’s urgent attention to the deplorable and failed portion of the road at Ramat Park, Ikpoba Hill, directly beneath the flyover.

Upon an on-the-spot assessment and following several complaints from motorists and residents, it was observed that the said portion has completely failed, with deep potholes and craters developing. The situation has worsened due to the constant heavy vehicular traffic on that corridor, which is a major entry and exit point into Benin City.

The failed portion has resulted in severe traffic gridlock and hold-ups for motorists, causing loss of man-hours, damage to vehicles, and untold hardship for commuters. The gridlock now stretches for several kilometers, particularly during peak hours, and poses a serious risk of accidents.

*Prayer:*

Your Excellency, in line with your administration’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and the SHINE Agenda, I most respectfully recommend that Your Excellency graciously direct the relevant Ministry – the Ministry of Roads and Bridges / Edo State Direct Labour Agency – to immediately mobilize to site for palliative work and eventual full rehabilitation of the failed portion.

Swift intervention will greatly ease the plight of our people and further demonstrate Your Excellency’s responsiveness to the yearnings of Edo citizens.

Thank you for your fatherly and proactive leadership.

Please, accept the assurances of my highest esteem.

Faithfully,

Comrade Razak Zekeri

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Affairs

To the Executive Governor of Edo State
