Meanwhile the Arewa Community in Edo Central has expressed support for the governor's administration, praising his efforts to address security challenges in the state. The community leaders thanked the governor for his prompt action in handling the Uromi incident, which helped to reduce tension in the area.
The governor and security experts have called for cooperation between the government, security agencies, and citizens to combat insecurity in the state.
They emphasized the need for community leaders to monitor the activities of their members and prevent criminal activities.
Recall the Edo State House of Assembly had passed a bill amending the Kidnapping Prohibition Amendment Law, which prescribes the death penalty for kidnappers and mandates the confiscation and demolition of properties used in the commission of their crimes.
The governor's declaration is in line with this law, and he has expressed his readiness to sign death warrants for convicted kidnappers
