The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 500 vulnerable women in Edo State with various business support items under the Renewed Hope Initiative's (RHI) Women Empowerment Programme. This initiative aims to promote economic independence and enhance the living standards of women across the country.

The empowerment program, which took place simultaneously in five South-South states, provided beneficiaries with items such as-Gas cookers with ovens, Deep freezers ,Generators,Industrial grinding machines.

These items are designed to support women in starting or growing their businesses, contributing to the prosperity of Nigeria.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu was represented by the  Coordinator Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, ,who encouraged the beneficiaries to use the resources judiciously to grow their businesses. She emphasized that the items serve as a platform for a better life and prayed that they would multiply in the hands of the beneficiaries.

The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, represented by his Special Adviser on Media Projects, Godswill Inegbe, thanked the President and First Lady for their visionary leadership and support for the people and government of Edo State.

 The government reaffirmed its commitment to women's economic empowerment, recognizing it as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development and societal advancement.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, noted that the empowerment program aligns with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). 

The program will continue to serve as a beacon of hope and empowerment, creating opportunities for Nigerian women to build sustainable development.

This initiative highlights the significance of women's economic empowerment in nation-building and promoting sustainable development. By empowering women, we can build a more prosperous and equitable society.

Edo State Office of the First Lady in collaboration with the Vice President, Student Union, University of Benin  has organized an event to promote the importance of  empowering the girl child , tagged 'Save the Girl Child'.

Stating the importance of gender Parity and resilience for girls in all aspects of life,  coordinator office of the First Lady,Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, said empowering girls is crucial for creating a better and brighter future .

According to her, "empowering a girl child is a  collective responsibility", not just for individuals but for entire communities and nations. 

Mrs. Anani, identified several challenges facing girls, including limited access to education, health disparities, cultural and socio-economic barriers, victimization, exploitation, and violence. Which she said can have long-lasting physical and emotional scars, making it essential to address them promptly.

"Empowering girls can have a transformative impact on their lives and the lives of those around them. 

"Educated girls become strong women who contribute to their families and economies, raise healthier children, drive economic growth, and advocate for equality and justice.' By equipping girls with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their health and well-being, we can create a brighter future for generations to come."

She added that, educated girls can make informed decisions about their health and well-being, participate in the workforce, and become agents of change in their communities.while urging that stakeholders must work together to create a world where every girl can thrive, grow, and reach her full potential.

The Vice President of the Student Union, UNIBEN, Miss Omotuemen Favour, encouraged girls to participate in leadership and address issues affecting them, such as sexual harassment and limited participation in leadership. 

The Honourable Commissioner of Women Affairs emphasized the importance of protecting girls and promoting gender equity, calling for a policy framework to hold perpetrators of sexual harassment accountable.

The engagement highlighted the importance of stakeholders working together to create a world where every girl can thrive.

Governor Okpebholo Making Good His Promises Of Insecurity - Suspends  Traditional Ruler Over Kidnapping

With the worrisome state of insecurity in Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo has ordered the pronto suspension of Dr.George Oshiapi Egabor,the Okumagbr of Uwano Kingdom, Agenrbode. This decision comes in response to recent cases of Kidnapping and killing in the area, which have left residents in continuous fear and uncertainty 

The Uwano Kingdom, located in Estako East Local Government Area, has been plagued by incessant kidnapping and killings, with the latest incident resulting in the death of a Palace Chief, Late John Ikhamate. The situation has become dire, with many residents living in perpetual fear for their lives.

 Additionally , the secretary of the Okumagbe, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi, has been arrested by the relevant authorities in connection with the recent incident. This move demonstrates the government's commitment to holding those responsible for the insecurity accountable

Governor Okpebholo's directive for the suspension of the Okumagbe is a clear indication of his administration's determination to tackle insecurity head-on. The suspension is indefinite, and it remains to be seen how this move will impact the security situation in the area.

Udomi community in  Esan Central,Edo State, has come together to express their gratitude to God Almighty for  Governor Okpebhol's victory,which was upheld by the tribunal recently .

The  celebration was held at the historic Apostolic Church Udomi, which was established in 1957,was charged with joy and elation in songs and dancing to God in celebration  of the electoral victory of  the governor Monday Okpebholo and honor to Mrs Edesili Okpebholo Anani, coordinator of the Office of the First Lady .

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to God for the governor's victory, Mrs Edesili  Okpebholo Anani, Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady,urged the community to continue praying for him, acknowledging the challenges that come with leadership.

Edo Governor Specifies Death By Hanging For Kidnappers

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has declared that kidnappers in the state will face the death penalty, specifically by hanging.

The governor expressed his readiness to sign death warrants for convicted kidnappers during a stakeholders' meeting with leaders and members of the Arewa Community in Uromi.

The governor emphasized that his administration will not tolerate insecurity, killing, and kidnapping in the state.

The new law in the state permits the demolition of properties and confiscation of lands used by kidnappers. The governor plans to build vigilante team offices on these lands.

The governor announced plans to employ and pay vigilante teams, who will work with security agencies to combat crimes.

He emphasized the need to profile people from other states and ensure they do not engage in criminal activities. Also promised to fence markets, install streetlights, and build abattoirs.

Meanwhile the Arewa Community in Edo Central has expressed support for the governor's administration, praising his efforts to address security challenges in the state. The community leaders thanked the governor for his prompt action in handling the Uromi incident, which helped to reduce tension in the area.

The governor and security experts have called for cooperation between the government, security agencies, and citizens to combat insecurity in the state. 

They emphasized the need for community leaders to monitor the activities of their members and prevent criminal activities.

Recall the Edo State House of Assembly had passed a bill amending the Kidnapping Prohibition Amendment Law, which prescribes the death penalty for kidnappers and mandates the confiscation and demolition of properties used in the commission of their crimes.

Unfair Treatment Of Contract Staff In Nigeria's Banking Sector: A Cry For Justice

As I sit down to share my story, I am filled with a mix of emotions - frustration, disappointment, and a deep sense of injustice.

My name is Osarugue Flora Aiworo (FloraTheDigitalBanker), I joined the Nigerian banking sector in 2011 as a contract staff. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand disparity in the welfare system of banks, where core staff enjoy entitlements such as allowances, bonuses, loans, and profit-sharing especially ,while contract staff are limited to their monthly salaries.

In the banking sector, there are two categories of staff: core staff (or professional staff) and contract staff (or support staff). While core staff enjoy better welfare packages, contract staff, who make up almost 80% of the banking community, are the backbone of the industry. They carry out most of the day-to-day operations and functions of the bank, executing strategies and plans that result in billions and trillions of profits.

Despite their crucial role, contract staff are often overlooked when it comes to profit-sharing and other benefits. 

They work tirelessly, Monday to Sunday in some banks, without proper rest, and their social lives suffer as a result. Many contract staff cannot vote, because they do not even have the time to register for a voter's card, 

I raised my concerns about this disparity in meetings and even brought it up with one of the MDs (name withheld) but nothing changed. It was as if my voice was falling on deaf ears. I was told not to bring it up again, and I was left feeling frustrated and helpless.

That's why I've decided to speak out and share my story. It's time to shine a light on the unfair treatment of contract staff in Nigeria's banking sector. It's time for banks to recognize the value of their contract staff and provide them with fair and just welfare packages.

The current system is not only unfair but also demotivating. Contract staff are the foot soldiers of the banking industry, and without them, banks would not be able to achieve their goals and targets. By denying them fair compensation and benefits, banks are essentially exploiting their dedication and hard work.

I urge banks to reconsider their welfare packages and include contract staff in profit-sharing and other benefits. It's not just a matter of fairness; it's also a matter of recognizing the value that contract staff bring to the industry.

In  addressing this issue, banks can take the following steps: Review their welfare packages to ensure that contract staff are included in profit-sharing and Provide fair compensation to them recognizing their dedication and hard work and also ,Develop inclusive policies that recognize the value of contract staff and provide them with opportunities for growth and development.

By taking these steps, banks can create a more just and equitable work environment for all staff, regardless of their category. It's time for change, and I hope that my story will inspire others to speak out and demand fairness and justice in the banking sector

A Plea for Collective Action in Tackling Insecurity in Edo State

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Executive Director of the Edo State Rapid Response Agency, Chief Abraham Jimawo (JP) has sounded the alarm on the escalating security crisis in Edo State. 

As a concerned citizen and leader, Chief Jimawo is urging all stakeholders to join forces to tackle the menace of kidnappings and killings that has plagued the state in recent times across the three senatorial district of Edo State. 

The situation has become dire, with people too afraid to go to their farms, and legitimate businesses and activities disrupted by the criminal invaders. 

Chief Jimawo emphasizes that criminals are criminals, regardless of their origin, and should be dealt with accordingly, stressing that the government and citizens must work together to reduce insecurity to the barest minimum, acknowledging that complete eradication might be impossible.

In recent weeks, the frequency of kidnappings and killings has been alarming, with incidents reported in various parts of the state, including Etsako East, Owan West and Ovia South LGAs

The leader of the Vigilante group in Owan West LGA was killed recently in his farm , and some persons were also allegedly killed at various locations in Etsako East within the last three months. These incidents have become all too common, and Chief Jimawo believes it's time for collective action.

As a solution, Chief Jimawo advises the Edo State government to convene a security summit within the next 60 days, bringing together all stakeholders, including security agencies, civil society organizations, and the diaspora community. 

This summit would provide a platform for dialogue and collaboration to find solutions to the security challenges facing the state. 

He is willing to champion this effort, leveraging his connections in the UK and other parts of the world.

Chief Jimawo commends the security agencies for their efforts but emphasizes that they cannot tackle the problem alone,the government, citizens, and stakeholders must work together to develop a comprehensive plan to address insecurity. He cites the DSS boss's recent statement that security agencies alone cannot solve the problem of insecurity in Nigeria, highlighting the need for community involvement.

One potential solution Chief Jimawo proposes is training and arming community members to defend themselves. He believes that local communities know their areas better than outsiders and can effectively mobilize to protect themselves and their properties. 

By working together and leveraging the strengths of both the government and citizens, Chief Jimawo is confident that Edo State can reduce insecurity and create a safer environment for its residents.

Key Recommendations from chief Jimawo includes Security Summit, a security summit within 60 days to bring together stakeholders and develop a comprehensive plan to address insecurity.

Father Of Murdered 6Year Girl Surfaces

The father of the 6-year-old girl allegedly murdered alongside her pregnant mother in Benin City has come forward. Mr. Uwuigbe Stanley, the father, was spotted at the Edo State Police Headquarters, visibly distraught over the situation.

Mr. Stanley had a relationship with the deceased, Loveth Aimienoho Isaac, resulting in the birth of their daughter, Uwuigbe Divine. Due to complications, Divine was born prematurely via cesarean section and spent three months and two weeks in an incubator.

Mr. Stanley claimed that his former partner stopped him from seeing their daughter two years ago, citing her new marriage. He stated that he had been unable to locate them since 2023.

The father revealed that he only learned about the murder through a friend who informed him after watching a news report on EBS TV online. He expressed shock that neither the woman's family nor anyone else had notified him about the incident.

Mr. Stanley is worried that he has not been allowed to see his daughter's body. He seeks justice for the tragic loss of his child and former partner.

Recall  a pregnant woman, Loveth Aimienoho Isaac, and her 6-year-old daughter were brutally murdered by her estranged spouse on recently. The suspect, identified as Nnamdi, is still at large.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Yamu, has appealed to the public for information leading to Nnamdi's arrest.

Further investigation revealed that a wedding invitation card had been printed for Nnamdi and the deceased woman, with their wedding scheduled for March 29 and April 6, 2025. The planned celebrations has since turned into mourning and agony.

The Coordinator of the Edo State First Lady's Office, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has urged stakeholders to intensify efforts to combat gender-based violence (GBV) and protect women's and children's rights.

This call to action was made during the 13th GBV Management Committee meeting at the Government House in Benin City.

Mrs. Anani emphasized the need for collective action to address GBV, highlighting its devastating impact on victims.

She stressed that both men and women suffer from GBV, but women are disproportionately affected.

The Coordinator also noted that GBV encompasses not only physical violence but also emotional trauma with significant socioeconomic implications.

Some forms of GBV include,Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) A harmful practice that violates the rights of the girl child,Domestic Violence-Often visible and deeply ingrained in societal norms,Emotional Trauma, Can be inflicted on both men and women, affecting their well-being and self-esteem 

Reaffirming  Edo State government commitment in tackling GBV,The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Samson Osagie, expressed confidence in the Governor's administration and requested increased collaboration and support to facilitate efforts.

The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies for improving effectiveness and efficiency in addressing GBV.

Presentations were made on reports from January to March 2025, covering ongoing cases and progress toward meeting the 2025 target. 

Key discussions included: Seeking government support for adequate funding, Collaboration and Partnerships,Fostering partnerships to combat GBV,Awareness and Sensitization- Educating the public on GBV and promoting healthy relationships

The Edo State Government's efforts to combat GBV align with national and international initiatives. Ekiti State, for example, has established a robust GBV Management Committee and implemented various programs, including:

-GBV Law- Enacted to protect vulnerable populations,Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC)Providing support services for survivors and Economic Empowerment Programs, Aiming to reduce poverty and promote women's right

Edo State Security Corps Nabs Phone Snatcher And Fake Cop

The Edo State Security Corps has made two significant arrests in Benin City, apprehending a notorious phone snatcher and a fake cop.

Oziegbe Adams, a member of a gang specializing in attacking pedestrians and stealing their mobile phones and personal belongings, was arrested around Okhoro in Benin City.

 The suspect was caught by men of the Edo State Security Corps during a regular patrol, following credible information.

Items recovered from him includes,11 National Identification Number (NIN) cards, 5 ATM cards, and drivers' licenses, 3 mobile phones, 2 power banks, and 8 MTN SIM cards ,other valuables includes 32 necklaces of different kinds and N25,300 in cash with 4 kitchen knives and tertiary institution results 

Also, a middle-aged man was also apprehended for impersonation, wearing a police vest and posing as a regular policeman despite having no affiliation with the police force.

Both suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution. 

The Edo State Security Corps has been working to strengthen security in the state, particularly along the Benin-Auchi Road, where 18 suspected kidnappers were recently arrested.

Red Cross Brings Hope To Flood -Ravaged Edo Communities

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, with support from the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Society, has provided N38 million to flood-affected communities in Edo State. 

The funds were disbursed to 500 beneficiaries in Ikpe and Ogbesse communities, with each recipient receiving N77,000 to improve their standard of living.

In a brief with newsmen ,Mr. Wilson Ekhomogiazin, Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in Edo State, explained that the organization visited the communities in 2024 to assess the flood's impact. The funds are targeted at vulnerable individuals, including the elderly, physically challenged persons, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

"The Nigerian Red Cross Society has been working to improve the lives of indigent Nigerians in the society." 

In 2024, they empowered 1,000 indigent persons in various communities and issued an early warning protocol to them. 

This protocol aimed to provide capacity for communities prone to flood disasters, supporting 1,000 households.

Nwaoha Charity, Disaster Management Officer, commended the selection process for beneficiaries, urging them to join the Nigerian Red Cross Society to impact lives. 

The Director of Rehabilitation Services, Ministry of Women Affairs, Edo State, also praised the organization for its efforts and encouraged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely.

Appreciating Red Cross on behalf  of the beneficiaries,the Chairman of Ikpe Community, Mr. Christopher Victor, thanked the donor for their kindness and promised to utilize the funds effectively.

 This gesture highlights the Nigerian Red Cross Society's commitment to providing humanitarian aid and support to those in need.

In the wake of recent security threats, including the tragic killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, the Onojie of Ujiogba Kingdom, HRH Solomon Ojeaga, has introduced  a set of guidelines to ensure harmonious coexistence between economic migrants and  indigenous occupants  residing in the area. These guidelines aim to promote mutual respect, understanding, and safety

The traditional ruler's message emphasizes the importance of adhering to local customs and regulations, ensuring a harmonious coexistence between migrants and the indigenous population.

While addressing the migrants at his palace, Ojeaga reassured them of their safety, highlighting the kingdom's long-standing tradition of hospitality towards people from all walks of life.

He encouraged the migrants to disregard negative comments that could potentially lead to violence, instead focusing on building a prosperous life in their adopted home.

He Urged migrants  to respect and adhere to the rules and regulations of Esanland, upholding the kingdom's rich cultural heritage.

 The Onojie emphasized the kingdom's zero-tolerance policy towards social vices, including theft, violence, and other harmful practices.

He warned that those who engage in evil practices will face severe consequences, while good people will be protected by the kingdom's shrine.

The Onojie of Ujiogba Kingdom's message serves as a reminder of the importance of community cohesion and respect for local traditions. By embracing these values, migrants can build a brighter future for themselves and their families in their adopted home.

The Esan people have a rich cultural heritage, with 35 independent kingdoms, each governed by its own Onojie (king). Their history dates back to 1000 B.C., with migrations from various regions shaping their identity.

Omadino Community Protests Land Grabbing, Seeks Government Intervention

The Omadino Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State is embroiled in a heated controversy over alleged land grabbing by the Metete family. 

To express their grievances, community members staged a protest, urging the Delta State Government and the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, to intervene in the matter.

The protest was sparked by claims that Mrs. Mojirin Metete and her family have been illicitly selling community land, prompting concerns about the potential breakdown of law and order in the community. 

The protesters, carrying leaves and chanting "we nor go gree oo we nor gree," demanded action from the authorities to address the issue.

The Chief Priest of Omadino Community, Mr. Rowland Yomere, highlighted the need for government intervention to prevent further escalation of the situation. He noted that the emergence of the Olu of Warri brought peace to the community, but the Metete family's actions threaten to disrupt this harmony.

Mr. Omajuwa Clinton, a member of the Omadino Elders Council, condemned the Metete family's alleged land grabbing, stating that the community does not belong to any individual or family. 

He emphasized that the era of individual illegal sales is over, following the ascension of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR

Madam Grace Yomere, the community Women Leader, corroborated the claims, emphasizing that Omadino land is communal property. 

She stressed that anyone seeking land should approach the community elders, who have the authority to allocate land as deemed fit.

Other protesters, including Madam Patience Mene, echoed the call for an end to land grabbing, asserting that enough is enough. 

However, the Metete family responded by stating that the matter is already in court, and the judicial system should decide the outcome.

The Omadino Community is seeking the intervention of the Delta State Government and the Olu of Warri to resolve the land grabbing issue. 

The community leaders and members are urging the authorities to take decisive action to protect the community's interests and maintain peace in the area.

It was indeed a glamours celebration for lovers of fun in Asaba yesterday as Rude Boy of PSquare, Harrysong and other famous Entertainers thrilled the crowd at the maiden Ukodo festival.

Organized by famous musician, Harrysong,the better Pikin’ singer, who is an Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Delta State Ministry of Culture and Tourism at the Dome Event Centre, Asaba, the event attracts government personalities, actors and actress including entertainers from all part of the country.

Speaking during the festival  Delta State Governor, represented by the State Commissioner for Works (rural roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, appreciates the young talented Deltans that  came to showcase their talents at the Ukodo festival.

He said, Government has reiterated commitment to encouraging upcoming stars in the entertainment industry with the right platforms to nurture their talents to become national and global stars.

''As an administration, we'll continue to support these talents because in them, we found a whole lot of new discovery. In them, we have seen indeed that Delta exists far beyond oil. "

''The infrastructural projects our administration is executing is radiating joy across all ethnic groups. Is it in area of building bridges of possibilities across communities, or is it in the area of ensuring that we have infrastructure across different divides?''

''That joy radiates in every action that our administration is carrying out. So, we are celebrating Ukodo festival is something that speaks to every aspect of our life today. It speaks to the joy that we derive whether you call it the dividends of democracy. It speaks to the issue of opportunity that is being created to every Deltan. It speaks to the issue of meaningful development. It speaks to the issue of peace across different divides, and  particularly, across the twenty five local government areas. While assuring that Ukodo festival will be sustained,the Delta State Governor hinted that subsequent editions of the festival would be more encompassing, with the whole state participating in the celebration.

Meanwhile, the dazzling lightenings coupled with the aesthetic decorations at the Dome Event Centre, Asaba, were enough to sustain the multitude of fans till the early hours of the following day as young talented artistes took turn to not just showcase their potentials but to entertain the fans.

It was a night to be remembered for rain of cultural performances by trooped from all the ethnic groups in Delta spiced with best of comedies, musical show by  Rude boy, Papi Urhobo, Solar S, and scores of other popular musical artistes including HarrySong.

Speaking to entertainment journalists at the event, a musical artiste, HarrySong , describes Ukodo festival as a dream come true for him. 

He says the festival is  not just the new Ukodo but the flavour that Delta State brings, and that it is to Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.

''It is a basic platform for upcoming musicians, dancers, comedians, and even Nollywood actors and actresses. So, I had to bring my people onboard. So, I am happy; I am excited today. Our Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is fulfilling his administration's MORE agenda, and we will continue to encourage and support him '', the renowned musical artiste emphasized.

Edo Nuj Chairman Calls For Divine Intervention Through Quarterly prayers For Members

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, recently organized the quarterly Special Prayer and Fasting session, which aims to seek God's protection and blessings for journalists in the state. 

This initiative, which began in January 2022, after Dr. Alenkhe assumed office on December 17, 2021, is designed to provide spiritual support and guidance to members of the union.

Dr. Alenkhe emphasized the importance of seeking God's guidance in all aspects of life, citing the benefits of prayer and faith.

 He shared a personal experience where the union was promised a bus in July 2023 and received it in April 2024,  just a few days after  a prayer session was conducted in his office against  delays  of promises,attributing the swift response to the power of prayer. 

"I urge you all to be prayerful, because God is merciful, and His promises are sure," he said."

In his sermon, Dr. Stanley Osagie, Head Pastor of Living Witness Power and Love Ministry Inc., encouraged journalists to rely solely on God and make prayer a part of their daily lives to navigate the challenges of the world. 

From the Bible readings in Psalm 91 and 79 through verse 11,He prayed for the protection and well-being of all members, especially those whose lives may be programmed for doom 

According to Dr. Osagie, "As God's children, we can only enjoy His convenient blessings when we love Him, have communion with Him, and trust in His saving ability."

The prayer session was a highlight of the gathering, with members coming together to express gratitude for the gift of life and to pray for protection from sudden death and calamity. 

The event concluded with a breaking of the fast, where members shared assorted fruits and food together.

Edo Governor Dismisses Opposition's Appeal as Frivolous

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has expressed confidence in his victory, stating that the opposition's appeal will not succeed. 

He accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, of squandering stolen funds on futile litigation.

The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal recently affirmed Okpebholo's election, dismissing Ighodalo's petition. 

Despite this, Ighodalo has vowed to appeal the decision, citing concerns over the integrity of the electoral process.

Speaking at a celebration in Irrua, Okpebholo said, "We have defeated them at the Tribunal, and they said they want to appeal the ruling.

 If they like, let them appeal and even get to the Supreme Court. We will defeat them." He emphasized that the people of Edo State have given him a clear mandate, which will not be taken away.

Okpebholo highlighted his administration's achievements, including improvements to road infrastructure in Esanland. 

He also announced plans to disburse soft loans to market women and traders in the state, further solidifying his commitment to the people of Edo State.

Edo State's Mandate Upheld: Tribunal Judgment Reinforces Okpebholo's Victory

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the duly elected governor, having garnered 291,667 votes. 

His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured 247,274 votes, while Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 22,763 votes.

Despite the overwhelming evidence of Governor Okpebholo's victory, the opposition has attempted to clutch at legal straws, hoping for a courtroom miracle.

 However, elections are won at the polling units, not in tribunals. The people of Edo made their choice, and that choice has translated into a government delivering on its promises.

As the tribunal delivers its judgment, the people of Edo State should rest assured that their mandate remains intact. 

The opposition may seek to create doubt, but the truth remains unshaken—Senator Monday Okpebholo is the choice of the people, and he will continue to lead Edo State towards a brighter future.
