UBTH's New CMD Pledges Excellence And Staff Welfare

Prof. Ize-Iyamu made this commitment when she assumed office today, surrounded by staff and students of the institution.
A Professor of Orthodontics and a trailblazer in several ways,she is the first female CMD, the first dentist to hold the position, and the first orthodontist to lead the institution.
She expressed her dedication to excellence and her commitment to supporting the national drive for equitable, cost-effective, and reliable healthcare for all Nigerians.
The new CMD pledged to align her administration with President Bola Tinubu's "Renewed Hope" Agenda, which aims to restore faith in public institutions and deliver healthcare that is accessible, affordable, and of the highest standard.
She thanked the President for the confidence reposed in her and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, for his recommendation.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu outlined her vision for UBTH, which includes pursuing excellence in clinical care, relentless research, and the nurturing of future healthcare leaders.
She also plans to cultivate a patient-first culture that prioritizes outcomes and experience, with shorter waiting times, safer surgeries, and kinder wards. Additionally, she assured staff of improved welfare under her leadership and vowed to maintain UBTH's position as one of the top teaching hospitals in Nigeria.The new CMD received a warm welcome from the staff and management of UBTH, who turned out in large numbers to receive her.
The immediate past CMD, Prof.Darlington Obaseki, congratulated his successor and wished her a prosperous administration.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Bisi Idaomi amongst other women group leaders also congratulated Prof. Ize-Iyamu and prayed for God's guidance in her new role.
