The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has taken a significant step towards promoting digital inclusion in communities by inaugurating a Digital Learning Center (DLC) in Edo State.

The center, located at Ujabhole Grammar School in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area, was commissioned on October 23, 2025, in a hybrid ceremony.

This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Federal Ministry of Communication Innovation and Digital Economy. The Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, revealed that the administration has established 296 digital learning centers across Nigeria, with plans to add 148 more this year, aiming to reach 592 centers by 2027.

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady in Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, emphasized the importance of equipping students with cutting-edge technology, e-learning resources, and interactive tools to enhance their skills and enable them to compete in the 21st-century knowledge economy.

The school's principal, Mr. Asemote Wisdom expressed gratitude to the First Lady and partners for the initiative, which will enhance the technological skills of teachers and students. Students who benefited from the initiative were thrilled, noting that it would boost their creativity, entrepreneurship, and contribute to national development.
