Okomu Oil Palm Company Celebrates Long-Serving Employees with Grand Awards Ceremony

Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc recently honored 82 employees, who had dedicated 15, 20, and 25 years of service to the company, at a grand ceremony held at its headquarters in Edo State.The awardees were showered with various household gift items, including king-sized beds, wardrobes, dining sets, upholstery chairs, generators, and 32-inch flat-screen television sets, as well as cash prizes in recognition of their years of service.
The Managing Director, Dr. Graham Hefer, praised the recipients for their unwavering commitment and contribution to the company's growth.
"The staff who have been rewarded today have given back part of their contributions to this company. They have shown loyalty and commitment over the years, and we are privileged to have people who have worked with us for as long as 25 years," Dr. Hefer said.
He encouraged other employees to emulate their example, noting that the company is proud to celebrate their dedication and service.
The Chairman of the Workers' Union, Comrade Ewansiha Clifford, lauded the management for recognizing the efforts of employees who have served diligently.
"I want to thank the management for rewarding employees who have served the company meritoriously. To the awardees, I say congratulations. It is not an easy journey, but your patience has paid off," he said.
One of the awardees, Mrs. Eroje Joyce, expressed gratitude to the company for recognizing her 25 years of service. She described her experience as one filled with growth and learning, noting that the company had trained and equipped her with skills that could help her run a company of her own.
"I have looked forward to this day, and I am extremely grateful to the company and its management. Over the years, the company has trained and equipped us with skills that can help us run a company of our own. It has been 25 years of learning and growth," she said.
The Long Service Award Ceremony is part of Okomu's annual tradition of appreciating staff who have shown exceptional dedication and long-term commitment to the company's vision and operations.
As the ceremony came to a close, it was clear that the real reward went beyond the gifts and prizes, but was instead the sense of belonging and pride that comes from being part of a company that truly values its employees.
