The air in the Edo State APC Secretariat was buzzing, a mix of relief and renewed purpose, as Chief Emperor Jarret Tenebe, the State Chairman, strode to the podium. His smile was broad, reflecting the pride he felt in the faces before him – members of the State Working Committee, party leaders, and the ever-present eyes and ears of the press. 

It was February 18, 2026, and a significant chapter had just closed, while an even bigger one was beginning.

"Friends, family, patriots," he began, his voice resonant with gratitude, "today, we gather not just as politicians, but as architects of democracy. The past few days, culminating in the seamless conclusion of our Ward Congresses across all 192 wards, have truly been a watershed moment for Edo State."

He spoke of the APC's immense responsibility as Africa's largest political party – a duty to embody the very democracy they championed. 

He proudly declared that the recent congresses were a testament to this commitment. The National Working Committee's guidelines, he asserted, had been followed to the letter, resulting in a process free from rancor, disharmony, or division. "This," he beamed, "is internal democracy in its purest form!"

His gaze then swept across the room, settling on the newly elected Ward Executives. "To you," he said, his voice softening with encouragement, "I extend my warmest congratulations. But know this: your emergence isn't just a victory; it's a sacred call to greater service."

He reminded them that the ward was the true bedrock of their political might, the closest link to the grassroots, to the voters who ultimately held the power. Their mission, he explained, was clear: to deepen party structures, mobilize communities, and ensure every Edo citizen understood and embraced the APC's vision. "Drive engagement, foster unity, build consensus, expand our membership," he urged. "And above all, sustain the harmony we’ve painstakingly built."

Then, his tone shifted, becoming more strategic as he looked ahead to the monumental task of the 2027 general elections. He spoke of the ongoing INEC voter registration, a critical piece of the puzzle. He invoked the name of Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, who had boldly pledged to deliver 3.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. "This isn't merely symbolic," Chief Tenebe declared, "it's a collective responsibility!"

He charged the new executives with leading a massive grassroots mobilization, not just to register eligible voters, but to educate them on safeguarding their Permanent Voter Cards. "Democracy thrives in the ballot box," he stressed, "and the ballot begins with registration."

The chairman concluded with a powerful call for unity and discipline, emphasizing that these qualities must be permanent, not seasonal. The successful congress, he clarified, was not an end, but merely the beginning of a renewed phase of consolidation and expansion.

"Together," he rallied, "we shall deepen our structures! Together, we shall strengthen our grassroots presence! Together, we shall position the APC in Edo State for greater victories ahead!"

As applause filled the hall, Chief Tenebe’s words echoed a clear message,the APC in Edo State was united, disciplined, and ready to march forward, confident in its path to future triumphs.
