With the presidential and senatorial elections approaching, Governor Monday Okpebholo has assured residents across Benin City and the entire state that PVCs are ready for collection in all 192 wards and 18 Local Government Areas.

As part of the statewide mobilization, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Comrade Razak Ikpe Zekeri, embarked on a tour of various LGAs to sensitize citizens on the importance of collecting their Permanent Voter Cards in this final phase of registration.

Addressing residents and market stakeholders during the tour, Comrade Razak urged the electorate, and particularly those who have shown little or no interest, to take advantage of the opportunity. He described the PVC as the only legitimate tool for citizens to decide the direction of leadership at all levels.

He explained that the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, is specifically to capture Nigerians who just turned 18 years and those who were previously not registered.

It also covers eligible voters who lost their PVCs, have mutilated cards, or have relocated and need to transfer their registration to reflect their new address.

“For anyone yet to register, you can visit the nearest INEC office in your LGA or go online to the INEC registration portal to get captured,” he said.

Comrade Razak also reminded residents of the “SHINE Agenda” of Governor Monday Okpebholo, which is anchored on delivering 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Edo must be ready. Get your PVC, keep it safe, and use it when the time comes. That is how we will vote for the SHINE Agenda and sustain the developmental strides we are already seeing across the state,” Razak said.

The SSA’s grassroots engagement is expected to increase turnout for PVC collection and new registration as INEC winds down the last phase of the exercise ahead of the polls.
