The event, which was the Second Edition of "Truth, Taste, and Tradition: NAWOJ Congress & Culinary Training" featured a repeat preparation of the popular Afang Soup.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the women journalists actively participated in the cooking exercise, sharing moments of joy, laughter and learning.
Addressing the women, Comrade Habiba Sam said the programme was deliberately designed to foster unity and promote sisterhood, which remains a core objective of NAWOJ.
According to her, the initiative is aimed at encouraging members to help and stand by one another whenever the need arises.
She explained that when women come together in such an informal setting, they share ideas and experiences that will help take the association to greater heights.
"When we come together like this, we share ideas, it will further take our association to a greater height," she said.
"Our collective ideas will spur the progress of our association, coming together and sharing ideas will do us all good," the chairperson added.
Comrade Sam noted that the repeat of Afang Soup was at the request of members. She said the exercise is designed to afford members the opportunity to learn how to cook different kinds of native foods and to refresh their knowledge on how to maintain and prepare healthy traditional meals.
She urged members to remain committed to the growth and progress of the association by supporting its programmes and working together in unity.
The excited participants commended the chairperson for the initiative, describing it as educative, entertaining and a veritable platform for bonding.
