Former NAWOJ Chairperson Adesuwa Ehimuan Named TTB National Director of o Engagement for Edo State

Hon. Adesuwa Ehimuan, a former Oredo East House of Assembly aspirant and immediate past Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Edo State Chapter, has been named National Director of Engagement for Edo State under the Tinubu Torch Bearers, TTB.

The appointment was announced in a list of National Directors of Engagement released and approved by Hon. Dr. Mary Alile Idele, PhD, the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Convener of the Tinubu Torch Bearers.

According to TTB, the appointments are part of a strategic move to reinforce its engagement framework nationwide, expand grassroots outreach, and boost advocacy and mobilization efforts ahead of key political activities.

In her new capacity, Hon. Ehimuan will be responsible for overseeing all TTB engagement activities across Edo State. This includes building and maintaining strong ties with stakeholders, driving community involvement, and ensuring that the movement’s message resonates at the grassroots level.

The TTB noted that the National Directors of Engagement have been saddled with the duty of nurturing productive relationships with community leaders, coordinating outreach programs, projecting the core values of the movement, and keeping the concerns of the people at the center of its activities.

Hon. Ehimuan brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been active in politics, journalism and women advocacy. 

She previously vied for the Oredo East Constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly and served two terms as Chairperson of NAWOJ, Edo State Chapter. During her tenure at NAWOJ, she spearheaded several initiatives focused on the welfare of women journalists and professional capacity building.

Her track record in public communication and women-centered advocacy is expected to be a major asset as she assumes her new responsibilities within TTB.

The Tinubu Torch Bearers described the appointment of new directors as part of a new structure of engagement designed to create a well-organized, people-focused network. The goal, the movement stated, is to connect with communities, women, youth and other key stakeholders across the country.

With this appointment, Hon. Ehimuan is expected to spearhead TTB’s engagement drive in Edo State while also promoting the ideals and programmes of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The Tinubu Torch Bearers congratulated all newly appointed directors and urged them to carry out their duties with discipline, integrity, humility and a deep commitment to service.

“These appointments reflect our commitment to building a movement that listens, engages, and delivers. We trust that our directors will be worthy ambassadors of the Renewed Hope vision,” the statement added.
