Gov. Okpebholo Inaugurates 4 Boards, Urges Members to Prioritize Service and Integrity

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has inaugurated four key boards and committees, charging the new appointees to be guided by integrity, humility and commitment to public good.

The boards inaugurated at Government House, Benin City are: the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Consumer Protection Committee, and the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency, RARA.

Addressing the appointees, Governor Okpebholo congratulated them and reminded them that their roles go beyond politics.

“This appointment is not just a service to Edo people. It is also a sacred trust before God,” he said.

He called on the members to work with one purpose, rise above personal interests, and ensure their actions deliver tangible benefits to citizens across the state.

“I urge you to operate in unity. Put the people first in every decision you take. Let your work produce results that will outlive your tenure and bring lasting value to our state,” the governor added.

Gov. Okpebholo also prayed for divine wisdom, strength and grace for them to succeed in their assignments.

Responding on behalf of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, *Chairman, Very Rev. Fr. Alfred Aronegbe Agbonlahor, thanked the governor for the trust placed in them. He assured that the board will work hard to safeguard the welfare of Christian pilgrims from Edo.

Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, also expressed gratitude. He commended the administration for improving the structure of pilgrimage management and promised transparent and efficient service delivery for intending pilgrims.

Iyamu Osaro Destiny, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Committee, pledged that the committee will stand for fairness, accountability and ethical business practices to protect Edo consumers.

Also inaugurated was Momodu Oghenakhoghie Goodluck as Director-General of RARA, alongside members of the 28-man Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The event had in attendance the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; SSG, Umar Musa Ikhilor; Chief of Staff, Yakubu Musa; and other top government functionaries.

The governor concluded by urging all appointees to see their positions as an opportunity to “serve Edo with integrity.”
