MY FINAL VERDICT AFTER COURTESY VISIT TO DISTINGUISHED SENATOR NEDA BERNARDS IMASUEN.
FROM SENIOR LEGISLATIVE AIDE TO A SENATOR WHO TURNED FIRST-TERM REPRESENTATION IN EDO SOUTH INTO HISTORIC EVIDENCE
On Monday, 21st September 2026, I, Comrade Dr. (Prince) Kenneth Oshiogwemoh, Public Communicator and Political Analyst from Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo North, paid a courtesy visit to Distinguished Senator Neda Bernards Imasuen, Senator Representing Edo South Senatorial District, Benin, Edo State, in his office at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
My engagement with Edo South politics has never been partisan. It has been analytical, evidence-based, and focused on documenting performance.
After my extensive interaction with the Distinguished Senator, I present my final verdict on his political journey and performance.
FROM LEGISLATIVE AIDE TO DISTINGUISHED SENATOR . A JOURNEY OF PREPARATION:
Many do not know that before becoming Senator in 2023, Distinguished Senator Neda Bernards Imasuen served diligently for two terms (8 years) as a Senior Legal Legislative Aide to former Senator Matthew Urhoghide, who represented Edo South Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023.
He did not jump into the Senate. He learned the Senate. He studied lawmaking, mastered legislative procedures, and understood constituency development from the inside.
That two-term apprenticeship as Senior Legislative Aide is what prepared him to deliver exceptional performance as a first-term Senator. He came prepared. He came experienced.
WHAT HE COMPLETED IN EDO SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT EVIDENCE ON GROUND:
1. Award of 420 scholarships to indigent students of Edo South Senatorial District.
2. Payment of 500 JAMB/UTME registration fees for Edo South youths.
3. Construction and rehabilitation of rural and urban roads in Benin City and across the seven Local Government Areas of Edo South.
4. Installation of over 50 solar-powered streetlights and distribution of transformers to communities.
5. Reconstruction of Amagba Modern Market, Oredo Local Government Area.
6. Distribution of 12,000 cocoa seedlings and 9,000 plantain suckers to farmers to boost agricultural productivity and food security.
7. Facilitation of over 30 federal appointments and jobs for qualified youths of Edo South.
8. Organization of free medical outreach programmes benefiting thousands of constituents.
ONGOING AND UPCOMING PROJECTS IN EDO SOUTH CONFIRMED TODAY.
I can authoritatively confirm, arising from today's meeting, that ground-breaking of a new set of constituency projects across Benin City and the seven LGAs of Edo South is imminent. Contractors have been fully funded and fully mobilized to site for immediate commencement without delay. Upon commencement of the dry season, all ongoing road construction projects will be completed and delivered to the people of Edo South before the end of this tenure.
This is not a promise. This is a verifiable fact.
ON HIS SECOND TERM.
It is true that Distinguished Senator Neda Bernards Imasuen was denied his second term ticket after losing the APC primary to another candidate of the same party.
But legacy is greater than ticket.
What you learned in 8 years as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Matthew Urhoghide and what you delivered in 4 years as Senator, many could not deliver in 12 years.
You served your former principal, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, for two terms with loyalty and legal expertise. You served Edo South for one term with evidence and excellence.
Though you may not be returning to the Senate for a second term, you have already secured a permanent second term in the hearts of the people of Edo South through your performance. Your evidence will continue to campaign for you.
I pray that Almighty God who elevated you from Senior Legislative Aide to Distinguished Senator will take you to more enviable political heights beyond the Senate. The end of a tenure is not the end of destiny. From Legislative Aide to Senator, and from Senator to greater heights.
WHO IS SENATOR NEDA BERNARDS IMASUEN?
He is a loyal aide turned performing Senator, a project-driven leader, a development architect, a promise keeper, a bridge builder, and a pan-Edo patriot.
As Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, he dispensed justice to over 40 petitioners and contributed immensely to the stability of the 10th Senate. At home in Edo South, he delivered tangible development to thousands.
He did not abandon Edo South. He transformed Edo South.
I am from Edo North, but I celebrate excellence in Edo South because performance has no senatorial boundary. True leadership is not tribal. Development is not tribal.
As a Public Communicator from Edo North, I am prepared to defend this Edo South legacy anywhere, anytime, with facts and figures.
Distinguished Senator Neda Bernards Imasuen of Edo South, you came, you saw, you delivered, and you are still delivering!
History will be kind to you, Sir. The 10th Senate will remember you. Edo South will never forget you. Nigeria will record you as the Senator who turned representation into evidence.
You have my profound respect, my loyalty, and my public commendation, Sir.
