Help Me Give My Baby A Better Life - 45-Year-Old Edo Woman Cries Out After Father Denied Paternity

Benin City - A 45-year-old woman, Miss Joy Williams, from Ebelle in  (Igueben ) Local Government Area of Edo State, has cried out to well-meaning Nigerians to help her give her innocent baby girl a better life.

Joy, who gave birth four months ago, said the father of the child has since denied responsibility for the baby, leaving her alone to face the burden of motherhood.

Narrating her ordeal, the struggling mother said she has been at the mercy of her kind-hearted landlord and landlady who have been her only support system since she delivered.

"My baby girl deserves a better life, I cannot continue to put my burden on this wonderful family who have been so caring to me and my daughter," Joy lamented.

According to her, she is currently owing one. year  house rent, including electricity bills and waste bills, yet the family has never troubled her. Instead, they still feed her and the baby.

She revealed that frustration once pushed her to the brink of giving out her baby for money, when she was approached with an offer of one million naira to sell the child.

"They discouraged me from making any attempt to give the baby out for money. Someone approached me to sell my baby for one million naira when the thought of how to properly take care of her engulfed me soon after I delivered her," she said in tears.

Joy is now appealing to kind-hearted Nigerians, NGOs, and the Edo State Government to come to her aid, not with handouts to sell her baby, but with empowerment and support to become independent enough to care for her innocent child.

"I need help to take care of my baby. I am crying for empowerment, any small support to start a trade so I can be independent enough to care for my innocent baby,pay my bills and stop depending on my landlord," she pleaded.
