WORKING PEOPLE UNITED COMMENDS GOVERNOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO FOR STEADY PAYMENT OF WORKERS' SALARIES

WORKING PEOPLE UNITED COMMENDS GOVERNOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO FOR STEADY PAYMENT OF WORKERS' SALARIES

Date: 7th November, 2026

National Secretariat Abuja, FCT.

The National Coordinator of Working People United, Comrade Prince William Akporeha, has commended the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his steady and regular payment of workers' salaries since assuming office in November 2024.

Speaking on behalf of the working people of Edo State, Comrade Akporeha said the governor has shown uncommon commitment to the welfare of workers by ensuring that salaries are paid as and when due, without delay or excuses.

According to him:

"Since Governor Monday Okpebholo assumed office in November 2024, there has been no strike by Edo State workers specifically over the non-payment of monthly salaries. His administration has maintained regular salary payments while at the same time, addressing outstanding arrears inherited from previous administrations."

Comrade Akporeha noted that this is a clear departure from the past, where workers were subjected to unpaid salaries, protests, and strikes, which affected families, markets, and the entire state economy.

He said the working people are happy because a worker who is paid regularly can plan his life, feed his family, pay school fees, and live with dignity.

He therefore called on Edo workers and all Nigerians to support continuity and stability, saying:

"This is the more reason why you should vote APC candidates and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come January 16th, 2027. To avoid unpaid salaries, borrowings, protests and strikes, vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu."

The National Coordinator added that when workers are happy, the state is happy, and when the state is happy, development will follow.

Signed:

Working People United

Office of the National Coordinator

Comrade Prince William Akporeha
