The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Senator Neda Immasuen, has reaffirmed his commitment to attracting more development to his constituency as the 2027 general election approaches.

Senator Immasuen made this declaration while hosting members of the Federated Chapel and Edo South Journalists Forum at his residence in Benin City recently.

During the meeting, Senator Immasuen gave account of his achievements in the Senate, highlighting various empowerment programs he has implemented to uplift his people.

He emphasized that his re-election in 2027 would enable him to consolidate on the experience he gained as a senior aide to Senator Mathew Oroghide and as a Senator in the National Assembly.

"Ranking is not just a title; it determines the committee you chair, seniority at the Senate, and the development you can attract to your constituency.

Edo South must not miss this opportunity. Re-electing me will attract a wealth of dividends to Edo South Senatorial District," he stated.

Senator Immasuen also reflected on his leadership style, noting that he prefers results over self-promotion.

"Politics demands you spend more time advertising achievements than delivering them. But my record speaks for itself," he said. He appealed for continued media partnership to amplify his projects and counter political misinformation.

The convener of the meeting, Comrade Edosa Okunbo, said the visit was aimed at ensuring Edo South produces a "ranking senator" capable of attracting greater development to the district.

"Our task is to promote Edo South leaders who deliver real dividends of democracy. Senator Imasuen has done just that," he stated.

The Chairperson of the Federated Chapel, Mercy Onyenweli, pledged  media support for the senator and requested his assistance in equipping the Chapel's secretariat.

Former Edo State Commissioner for Transport, Orobosa Omo-Ojo, urged journalists to highlight Immasuen's achievements, which include rural electrification in over 200 communities, facilitation of federal appointments, job opportunities, provision of clean water projects, agricultural support for farmers, scholarships, JAMB sponsorships, and empowerment schemes for artisans and traditional birth attendants.

Senator Immasuen's achievements and commitment to development have earned him recognition and support from key stakeholders in Edo South.

As the 2027 general election approaches, it remains to be seen whether his efforts will translate to renewed support from the electorate.
