Edo Nuj Chairman Inducted into Historic Benin Recreation Club

The Benin Recreation Club, a storied institution in the heart of Benin City, has welcomed a new member into its fold. 

Comrade Festus Alenkhe, NUJ Edo Chairman, has been inducted into Benin Recreation Club, a prestigious club in Edo State comprising prominent elites from various professions, aimed at promoting members' well-being.

Alenkhe, who has won many awards for his journalistic skills and  commendation  for repositioning the union, was honored with the privilege of taking a bow during the screening exercise, presided over by Venerable Nosayaba Edokpolor.marking the beginning of his membership. 

Venerable Edokpolor, in his remarks, praised Comrade Alenkhe's impeccable character, describing him as a team player who is eager to contribute to the growth and development of the club.

Established in 1933, the Benin Recreation Club has a rich history of providing a haven for its members to relax, socialize, and engage in recreational activities. 

Venerable Edokpolor emphasized the importance of discipline within the club, warning that any member found engaging in illicit activities would face sanctions.

In his response, Comrade Alenkhe expressed his gratitude to the club's leadership and members for accepting him into their fold. 

He stated that joining the club was a deliberate effort to prioritize relaxation and recreation, which he believes is essential for maintaining a sound mind and promoting development. 

Comrade Alenkhe pledged to abide by the club's constitution and contribute to its continued growth and success.

Comrade Marcus Mcaine Okoebor, the club's secretary, highlighted the club's commitment to promoting the well-being of its members. 

He noted that the Benin Recreation Club is one of the foremost clubs in Nigeria, comprising prominent elites from various professions.

Located at No. 1, Ikpokpan Road, GRA, Benin City, the Benin Recreation Club is a hub for socialization, relaxation, and community building. With its rich history and commitment to excellence, the club continues to thrive, attracting new members who share its values and vision. 

Comrade Alenkhe's induction is a testament to the club's enduring legacy and its continued relevance in the community.
