The quiet, ancestral town of Iyamho stirred with quiet reverence recently as Chief Dr. Abraham Jimawo (JP), the ILUNAMIE 1 of The Three Ibie and aspiring Member of the House of Representatives for Etsako Federal Constituency, paid a deeply symbolic consultation visit to one of Etsakoland’s most treasured matriarchs — Hajia Aishetu Oshiomhole.
Hajia Aishetu, mother of former Edo State Governor and serving Senator, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, is widely regarded as a moral compass and unifying force in Afemai land. Her home in Iyamho has, over the decades, become a sanctuary where leaders seek wisdom, prayers, and the kind of blessing only a mother of the land can bestow.
Chief Jimawo did not come alone. He arrived with the full weight of the Jimawo Project 2027 Organisation, led by Director General Uduimoh Esilama Ayo. Flanking him were Chief Public Relations Officer Comrade Dr. Kenneth Oshiogwemoh; Women Leader Princess Loveth Awa Ewere; Deputy Women Leader Hajia Awa; Etsako West LGA Coordinator Mr. Alhaji Momodu Adedio and grassroots mobilizer Comrade John Osikpemi Okhukpe, popularly called “AK Restoration.
Waiting to receive the delegation alongside the matriarch was Chief Kelly Oshiomhole, a respected figure in the Oshiomhole dynasty. The meeting was devoid of political noise — no sirens, no grandstanding. It was, instead, the old Afemai way: a son of the soil returning to the feet of a mother to seek counsel before a journey.
Hajia Aishetu welcomed Chief Jimawo with the kind of warmth that dissolves protocol. Eyewitnesses said her embrace was firm, her smile knowing. In Etsako tradition, when a mother places both hands on your head, she is not just praying — she is transferring strength, heritage, and legitimacy. That was the moment captured in Iyamho.
In her prayers, the matriarch asked for divine guidance, protection, and success for Chief Jimawo’s 2027 aspiration to represent Etsako Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber. She invoked the ancestors of Etsako, prayed for peace across the land, and charged him to carry the people’s burden with humility if entrusted with the mandate. Her words, those present said, were “royal blessings wrapped in motherly admonition.”
Visibly moved, Chief Jimawo described Hajia Aishetu as “a pillar of strength and a living symbol of unity in Etsakoland.” He told the gathering that no political ambition is complete without the prayers of mothers and elders who have watched the land through seasons of planting and harvest. “When Mama speaks, Etsako listens. When Mama blesses, the road opens,” he said, expressing profound gratitude for the audience.
The visit underscores a truth in Edo North politics: power flows through respect. For aspirants, the path to Abuja often begins at the doorsteps of matriarchs and patriarchs whose voices still command moral authority. By seeking Hajia Aishetu’s blessing, Jimawo was not just ticking a consultation box — he was anchoring his project in the cultural soul of Etsako.
Members of the Jimawo Project 2027 Organisation said the reception re-energizes their grassroots drive. DG Uduimoh Esilama Ayo noted that the campaign is built on “elder endorsement, women inclusion, and youth restoration,” and Monday’s visit captured all three.
As the delegation left Iyamho, the message was clear: the race for 2027 will be run with the prayers of mothers, the counsel of elders, and the trust of the people. And for Chief Abraham Jimawo, that journey now carries the quiet but weighty blessing of Hajia Aishetu Oshiomhole — a great woman of Etsako land whose prayers have shaped governors and now, God's grace, a future federal lawmaker.
