Palpable Tension in Etsako APC as Jimawo’s Supporters Call Out Dekeri Anamero Over Unpaid ₦10m Deal

The political atmosphere in Etsako Federal Constituency is heating up as associates of Chief Dr. Abraham Jimawo, JP, are demanding that Hon. Sunday Dekeri Anamero, Esq. honour a ₦10 million reimbursement pledge made during the 2026 APC House of Representatives primaries. In a press statement released on June 24, 2026, Dr. Jimawo’s political team alleged that their principal stepped down for Dekeri Anamero on May 14, 2026, following appeals from party leaders and Edo State Governor. The move, they said, was a sacrifice to keep APC united ahead of the elections.
According to the statement signed by Comrade Dr. Kenneth Oshiogwemoh, Chief PRO of the “Chief Dr. Abraham Jimawo 2027 Project Organisation,” the agreement was sealed in the presence of APC State Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, and chairmen of Etsako East and Etsako West LGAs.
Part of the deal, they claim, was that Dekeri Anamero would refund ₦10m to cover Dr. Jimawo’s cost for Expression of Interest and nomination forms, plus other campaign expenses.
Months after the primaries, Jimawo’s camp says Dekeri Anamero has failed to pay. The situation worsened, they added, when the lawmaker denied the agreement through the State Secretary — a move they described as “a breach of political trust” that threatens APC’s internal unity.
“The APC stands on discipline, integrity, and keeping to agreements. A representative who ignores commitments made before party elders weakens the moral foundation of our party,” the statement read.
Jimawo’s supporters are now calling on Dekeri Anamero to pay up immediately. They warned that failure to do so will force them to “reassess their political alignment and support structure” in Etsako Federal Constituency ahead of 2027, and that voters will be informed of the full details behind the decision.
They also urged APC leadership at both state and national levels to step in quickly, arguing that ignoring such disputes discourages sacrifice and breeds distrust among loyal party members.
“A political party that tolerates broken promises will soon lose the trust of its people,” the group concluded.
The development puts APC’s credibility in Etsako Federal Constituency under scrutiny, as party leaders race to manage fallout and preserve cohesion before the next election cycle.
