Okomu Oil Palm Company Extends Christmas Cheer to Vulnerable Communities

By Admin As the holiday season approaches, Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has demonstrated its commitment to giving back to the community by donating essential items to vulnerable children and displaced families in Edo State.

The company's annual Christmas outreach initiative saw the donation of food, clothing, and other necessities worth millions of naira to the Roseluyi Exceptional Students Academy and the Home for the Needy Foundation, an IDP camp in Ohodua, Edo State.
The donated items, which include bags of rice, beans, garri, yam, noodles, and other staples, are aimed at easing the burden on vulnerable children and displaced families during the festive season.

The company's Communication Officer, Mr. Fidelis Olise, emphasized that the initiative is a reflection of Okomu's values of compassion, inclusion, and community welfare.
"Okomu views Christmas as a season of reflection, generosity, and shared humanity," Olise said. "We believe that everyone deserves to celebrate Christmas with dignity and joy, and we are committed to doing our part to ensure that happens."

The recipients of the donation were visibly moved by the gesture. The Director of Roseluyi Exceptional Students Academy, Mrs. Resemary Isaac-Aluyi, described the donation as "timely and impactful," while Pastor Evelyn Omigie, who received the items on behalf of the IDP camp, expressed gratitude, saying, "Okomu is like an angel sent by God to celebrate Christmas with us in an uncommon way."

Okomu's Christmas outreach has become an annual event, supporting hundreds of households across nearby communities.

The company plans to sustain and expand the initiative as part of its commitment to strengthening community relations and improving the welfare of vulnerable groups.
