Edo State Govt Educates Residents On Land Services Through EDOGIS Outreach Habiba Sam  The Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS) is set to embark on a sensitization tour of Edo North and Edo Central areas to create awareness about its activities at the grassroots.  The tour, which will cover Auchi and Ekpoma, aims to educate residents on the importance of paying Land Use Charge (LUC), registering their properties with the State Government, and processing Certificate of Occupancy (CofO). The sensitization program will include road shows, engagements with property owners, students, traditional rulers, businessmen and women, as well as artisans.  The event will also highlight the dangers of encroaching on government layouts and land grabbing. Edo Govt To Enforce Land Tax Payment, Warns Defaulters Habiba Sam The Edo State Government has issued a warning to property owners in the state to pay their Land Use Charge (LUC), a land-based tax that includes property tax, ground rent, and tenement rate.  According to a statement by the Director of Media, Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS), Dr. Tunde Eigbiremolen, government officials will soon enforce the law on defaulters. The enforcement is aimed at recovering all outstanding indebtedness to the government, which will be used to fund ongoing infrastructural development projects across the state.  EDOGIS, the agency responsible for managing and administering the state's land resources, has served notices to defaulters and debtors, informing them of their outstanding Land Use Charges. DSS Arraign 5 Suspects Over Benin kidnap Incident Habiba Sam  The Department of State Services (DSS) has brought charges against five individuals accused of kidnapping Jeffery Iserere in Benin City. The suspects, identified as Ozo Obasuyi, Charles Edeho, Enofe Marvis, Johnbull Edoleyi, and Jeffery Igbinoba, were arraigned before the Edo State High Court. The presiding judge, Hon. Justice A. N. Erhabor, ordered the remand of the five accused persons in prison custody, citing the seriousness of the offense. According to the judge, the alleged crime is punishable under Section 2(1) of the Kidnapping Prohibition Law of Edo State, 2013. A Pressing Plea for Help-Young Couple Seeks Assistance to Discharge Their Newborn Baby Habiba Aniekan Sam  A young couple, Mr. Saviour Sunday, 29, and his wife, Mrs. Beauty Sunday, 24, from Oruk Anam LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA of AKWAIBOM State, are in dire need of financial assistance to discharge their newborn baby boy from St. Philomena Hospital in Benin City.  The baby, born prematurely on May 29, has been receiving treatment at the hospital and is currently in a stable condition. However, the couple is struggling to pay the outstanding bill of N1.4 million. The baby was born at a midwife center and was quickly referred to Modic Children Specialist Hospital due to breathing difficulties.  After paying N18,000 for oxygen treatment, the couple was referred to Medvic Hospital, where they were asked to make an instant deposit  of N850,000.
